***We are now running this course in Dublin***

Continuing with our philosophy of providing a genuine English course (and not just a course book), we are offering a 10-week, CAE Exam Preparation course.  The course consists of 30 hours of lessons and 20 hours of homework. Each lesson provides 1.5 hours of advanced language focus and 1.5 hours of exam practice and analysis. Detailed feedback of our students’ work is given throughout the course. CAE Exam Preparation has been designed around the structure of the CAE exam and the language requirements needed to reach level C1.

CAE EXAM PREPARATION

This course has been designed for students who are close to level C1 and would benefit from an in-depth study of the Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) exam format and C1 level language.

The course has a 3-hour lesson weekly. It is run over 10 weeks, amounting to 30 hours of classroom time and 20 hours of homework.

During the 30 hours of lessons our students complete all parts of the exam (Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, Speaking). The answers are analysed in detail and the mark of each student is recorded. A comprehensive report on whether our students are ready to sit the exam or not is provided in week 8. From lesson 1, the course also focuses on exam techniques and exam time management.

If our students are ready to sit the exam, The English Course Madrid will organise a school or academy where the exam can be done. The exam fee is not included in the price of the course.

From week 1 to 5, the homework includes completing one writing task (essay, letter/email, proposal, report, review). Our teacher gives structural and grammatical advice before each writing task and corrects and gives detailed feedback on each completed writing.

In week 8, a practice speaking-oral, which is recorded and  given to our students with analysis and feedback, is completed. The practice oral replicates real-exam conditions.

Maximum of 10 students per class.

Each 3-hour lesson is in two parts.

The order of the lessons may change slightly, but the programme stays the same. (If you are viewing this table on a mobile phone scroll across to view.)
