Continuing with our philosophy of teaching a genuine English course (and not just a course book), we are offering a 5-week, semi-intensive, CAE Exam Preparation course.  The course consists of 30 hours of lessons and 20 hours of homework. Each week the course provides 3 hours of language input and 3 hours of exam practice and analysis. Detailed feedback of our students’ work is given throughout the course. CAE Exam Preparation has been designed around the structure of the CAE exam and the language requirements needed to reach level C1.

This course has been designed for students who are close to level C1 and would benefit from an in-depth study of the Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) exam format and C1 level language before sitting the exam.

CAE Exam Preparation is semi-intensive, consisting of 2 x 3 hours of lessons each week. It is run over 5 weeks, amounting to 30 hours of classroom time and 20 hours of homework.

During the 30 hours of lessons our students complete all parts of the exam (Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, Speaking). The answers are analysed in detail and the mark of each student is recorded. A comprehensive report on whether our students are ready to sit the exam or not is provided. From lesson 1, the course also focuses on exam techniques and time management.

The English Course Madrid organises a Cambridge Exam Centre where the exam can be done. The exam fee is not included in the price of the course.

The homework includes completing one writing task (essay, letter/email, proposal, report, review). Structural and grammatical advice is given before each writing task.  The writing tasks are returned the following week with detailed feedback and recommendations from Brian.

A practice speaking-test is held with each student. Each student receives a recording of their practice speaking-test with a report including recommendations and detailed feedback.

Maximum of 8 students per class.

During the 30-hour course a full mock exam is completed. The mock exam replicates real-exam conditions.

The mock exam is scheduled for week 4.
